My Two Sons

Musings about the trials and tribulations of raising my two sons in Taipei.

Who am I? July 31, 2009

I am an American-born Taiwanese woman married to a Taiwanese man and living with my husband, two sons, and mother-in-law in Taipei, Taiwan.  I was born and raised in New York, NY and moved to Taiwan after I met and married my husband.  I am also a elementary school teacher, aspiring writer, and avid reader.  I am always seeking to develop a better understanding of myself and my life and use writing as a tool for reflection and self-discovery.  I hope that my revelations and experiences can strike a cord with others and in some way help in other people’s road to a better understanding of their own lives.

I like reading about your adventures as a mother, they are very well written, funny and sincere! And surprisingly very familar (to my every day world with 2 toddlers in Taiwan :D )

Thanks! I wish I had time to write more… it seems that so many things in my children’s lives just fly by and are soon forgotten. I guess this is my way of immortalizing as many of them as I can!

I don’t usually read blogs, but my husband, our 3.5 yo son, and I recently moved to Taiwan from the US and I was searching for information about kids activities and found your blog. I find your writing witty and interesting and the things your sons do and say hilarious. My husband and I had a big laugh about the pee in the mouth in the tub thing. I thought I’d say thanks for the blog and we’re enjoying it.
